What to Do in an Accident or Breakdown
Stay calm and follow the steps below — this will speed up the process and protect you from extra costs.
1Stop and do not leave the sceneTurn on your hazard lights and set up a warning triangle. Do not move the vehicles until the scene has been documented, unless required for traffic safety.
2Assess the situation — decide whether the traffic police are neededWhether anyone is injured, how many cars are involved, and whether there is a dispute over fault. Criteria are listed below.
3Photograph the Accident SceneA wide shot from two or three angles, the license plates of both cars, close-ups of the damage, and the road markings and signs.
4Call Avtouzbegim right awayOur number — +998 93 574 45 45. We are available 24/7 to advise on next steps, help with paperwork, and arrange towing or a replacement car if needed.
5Keep All DocumentsAn accident report, a traffic police certificate (if called), photos of the damage, and a medical exam (for the European Accident Statement) will be needed to settle the claim with the insurer.
Whether the traffic police are needed, or a European Accident Statement can be used
Can be settled with a European Accident Statement — without calling the traffic police
Only 2 cars are involved in the accident
No one is hurt, no injuries
Both drivers have valid OSAGO insurance
The at-fault driver fully and unconditionally admits fault
The nature and cause of the damage are not in dispute
Both drivers are sober
You must call the traffic police
There are injuries or suspected injuries
Road infrastructure is damaged — a barrier, traffic light, sign, or fence
More than 2 cars are involved in the accident
The parties disagree on who is at fault or the cause of the accident
There is suspicion that one of the drivers is intoxicated
How to File a European Accident Statement
1At the Scene of the AccidentBoth drivers fill out and sign an accident report in two copies, and photograph the scene and the damage.
2Within 4 hoursBoth drivers undergo a sobriety medical examination — this is mandatory for settling without the traffic police.
3Within 3 business daysThe accident report and photos are submitted to the at-fault driver's insurance company for registration and review. Call us — we will help you fill out the documents correctly.
The maximum payout under the European Accident Statement is capped at 14,000,000 UZS (35% of the OSAGO coverage amount). If the actual damage exceeds this amount, settling without the traffic police is not possible — you must call them.
Who Is Responsible for What
